Often mistaken for green mamba, which are poisonous, this harmless spotted bush snake is probably hunting gecko and frogs. Scales on its belly allow it to climb up trees but it’s ended up on Wayne’s porch table in Durban, South Africa (Wayne is Head of IT at Peace Parks Foundation). To tell the difference between a deadly mamba and this harmless spotted bush snake, just look at the eyes. The bush snake has an orange ring around its pupil whereas a mamba’s are pure black.
