Born and bred in Zimbabwe, Norman has been involved in conservation since leaving school. After dedicating years to protecting rhino with Zimbabwe Parks And Wildlife, he spent 10 years heading up law enforcement within the country’s largest conservancy, Bubye Valley.
Norman now heads up Nyika National Park’s Counter Poaching Unit in Malawi, where his knowledge and experience have been vital assets. This is especially true when dealing with some of the challenges that come with working in such a remote place. When he isn’t out managing patrols and looking for illegal activities in the field, you can find Norman training Nyika’s canine handlers and their four-legged furry rangers or tending to his orchids which he successfully hand-pollinated using a Q-Tip…impressive, right?
