This month, PeaceParks.TV is paying tribute to rangers, the brave men and women protecting communities and nature worldwide.
Lusbem Armando Romao, a ranger in Mozambique’s Zinave National Park, is also a canine handler. Tracking dog Chicago helps him in his work on the frontlines of conservation, enhancing his ability to safeguard people and nature. Lusbem is an inspiration to his generation, and the next. “I would encourage other young people to pursue a career in conservation, which would be good for our communities because, as rangers, they will impart the value of protecting the environment,” he says.
The Mozambique Government and Peace Parks Foundation are working together to protect, restore and manage Zinave. We are extremely grateful for the power of partnerships, rangers and canines in amplifying our impact, and ensuring a peaceful future for this magnificent park. Stay tuned to PeaceParks.TV for more updates from the field, and read more about the transformation of Zinave here: http://bit.ly/3Y5k88K.
