With the DJ pumping the music and the audience bubbling with excitement, students at the SA College for Tourism are lighting up the runway at the college’s annual Fashion Show!

Run under the auspices of Peace Parks Foundation, the SA College for Tourism offers life-changing bursaries to young men and women from impoverished backgrounds. Enrollment at the college provides opportunities for a better future, giving students the skills they need for a bright future in the nature-based tourism industry.

The college has three tourism-centred academies: hospitality training, animal tracking, and livestock herding. These accredited courses equip individuals with specialised knowledge to obtain gainful employment at lodges, reserves, and other nature-based or eco-tourism businesses. This year alone, 105 students are on track to graduate and begin their career journey.

The electrifying fashion show is an annual event part of the hospitality training stream that showcases the incredible talents of these passionate students, who have been working enthusiastically to bring their hospitality and event-hosting skills to life. From planning and preparing delicious snacks and beverages to setting up and hosting the event, they’re bound to make waves in the industry.

Launched in 2005, Peace Park’s ‘Adopt a Student’ once-off bursary scheme is designed to cover all the various costs involved in producing top talent ready for the industry, including travel, tuition and training materials, accommodation, and more.

You can make dreams come true and support sustainable conservation at scale by sponsoring a hospitality or tracker student’s enrollment at SA College for Tourism through Peace Park’s ‘Adopt a Student’ programme.
