Simalaha holds a special place in Gordon’s heart. Zambia’s first community conservancy, it was created by visionaries senior Chief Inyambo Yeta of the Sisheke Chiefdom and Chief Sekute of the Sekute Chiefdom. They sanctioned the development of the area as a wildlife conservancy and it forms a critical link between the Chobe National Park in Botswana and the Kafue National Park in Zambia. This link means that wildlife can once again traverse their old migration paths.
