Forest walk opens onto paradise

Primary dune forest sits on dunes that are closest to the shoreline. It is vital to preserve these dunes as they host important flora for wildlife and also, importantly, assist the dune’s stability. So here in Maputo Special Reserve, walkways are built over the dunes to minimise footfall on the dune itself and to allow the plants to thrive.
